ERGO participates in the Christmas luncheon for elderly people who are alone for the second consecutive year

The brand consolidated its collaboration with the Amigos de los Mayores Federation in the context of active ageing as one of its main lines of social action within its corporate responsibility.

The past Saturday, 20 December ERGO collaborated for the second year on the Christmas dinner organised annually by the Amigos de los Mayores Foundation for seniors who find themselves alone. Thus, ERGO consolidates itself as an organisation concerned and interested in improving the living conditions of these people.

In this twenty-seventh edition, the NGO has simultaneously organised more than 10 events spread throughout Catalonia, with participation by more than 1,000 participants and volunteers, almost 500 more than last year.

The main event was held at the Hilton Diagonal Hotel, which donated some of its facilities, and was attended by various government authorities from the regional, local and city governments, such as the Representative for Social Welfare, Public Health and Consumer of the Barcelona Provincial Council: "The protection of the elderly is now a challenge for governments, with regard to the prevention of situations of loneliness, ill-treatment and problems of autonomy or lack of resources," said Josep Oliva, recalling that, the Peoples' Services Department of the Barcelona Provincial Council collaborates with companionship programmes, as in this event.

On behalf of DKV Group, Juanjo Mulero, Director General of the Department of General and Life Insurance, gave a speech focusing on the responsibility that companies have to society: "Our environment is what allows us to grow as companies, therefore, it's logical that some of these benefits return to it," explaining the commitment that the company has undertaken with regard to seniors, one of ERGO's corporate social responsibility lines.
