DKV donates €5,950 to four social entities through the #DKVGivingTuesday match funding campaign

DKV has joined the global movement Giving Tuesday with its #DKVGivingTuesday match funding campaign.. To complement the 14th Call for Social Health Grants “Tú decides” 2018-2019, DKV has launched a solidarity challenge aimed at the 52 finalist companies in this edition, encouraging them to share their projects through the social crowdfunding platform migranodearena.org, with the aim of boosting funding for their social projects.

Of the 21 companies that uploaded their challenge, DKV has rewarded the four initiatives that raised the most money through migranodearena.org by matching a total of €13,929 in donations.

The Aragonese Association of Relatives of Eating Disorder Sufferers (ARBADA), the Bierzo Association of Relatives of Alzheimer Sufferers (AFA Bierzo), the Spanish Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association (ADELA), and the Móstoles Multiple Sclerosis Association (AMDEM) were the four initiatives that raised the most donations. ARBADA, which provides resources and skills to young sufferers of eating disorders, came first with €2,940 in donations. . AFA Bierzo raised the second highest amount of donations with €2,060. This association's mission is to improve the quality of life of people with Alzheimer's and their relatives. ADELA Madrid took the third place after raising €1,300. This association provides respiratory physiotherapy to people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Lastly, the fourth place went to AMDEM for raising €650. Its goal is to create prevention and treatment workshops on the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis.

The #DKVGivingTuesday campaign ran from 1 November until 29 November, two days after Giving Tuesday, a global movement started in the United States to promote solidarity following the two most consumer-heavy days of the year: Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Solidarity through crowdfunding is a way to help finance social projects through the accumulation of small donations from many people. Through match funding, which combines crowdfunding with the support of institutions and businesses, DKV is able to boost and multiply the donations made by citizens.
