University study grants are established for each academic year for social and cultural promotion among mutual society members
The purpose of the study grants is to carry out social and cultural promotion among mutual society members by means of an aid for official university studies, contributing to the payment of the enrolment fees and expenses up to a maximum amount of 150 euros per applicant. This is independent of the healthcare available to mutual society members.

This educational action is governed in article 130 of the Regulations on Administrative Mutualism. The aim is to carry out social and cultural promotion, by means of university education, among mutual society members and their children and orphans, through financial contributions in the form of study grants for mutual society members and residence grants for mutual society member's children and orphans, among other possible modalities.
Section 2 of article 130 establishes that these grants will be set according to the General State Civil Servants Mutual Society's credit and performing a public announcement through MUFACE'S Directorate General, which shall be published in the Official State Gazette.
Muface's Resolution of 14 July 2017, which announces the study grants for mutual society members for the 2017/2018 academic year (Official State Gazette of 27 July), is the other applicable regulation.

The study grants continue for this 2017/2018 academic year after being initiated in the 2015/2016 academic year, together with the renewal of residence grants for the children and orphans of mutual society members that are announced every year in the framework of MUFACE's educational action, which has been established in article 130 of the General Regulation on Administrative Mutualism (approved by Royal Decree 375/2003 of 28 March), whose credit has been allocated to sub-item 482.00 (Educational action) of MUFACE's budget for the year 2017.
