The first online edition of DKV Fresh Art KIDS closes with 2,529 participants

The three winners are school children from Zamora, Badalona and Cáceres, who created and shared drawings depicting positive messages for hospitalised children

DKV ha clausurado la primera edición online de DKV Fresh Art KIDS con un éxito rotundo: 2,529 children participated with a total of 2,568 works of art in a project involving 130 schools and 320 tutors throughout Spain. The winners were Zaira Casado, from the Tres Ríos school in Zamora, in the individual category; Xavier Moreno, from the Maristes Champagnat school in Badalona, in the Primary school category; and Iván Rojo, from IES Universidad Laboral de Cáceres, in the high school category.

The candidates submitted an open theme work, the only requirement being that it contained a positive message for children who are hospitalised in Spain. At the end of the contest, DKV shared the works of art submitted with hospitalised children all over the country.

The winners were chosen by the number of votes on the web platform and received a prize of an iPad. The six schools that submitted the most voted art works also received an iPad each.

DKV Fresh Art KIDS is a art competition created with the idea of encouraging creativity and innovation among children and teenagers (between 3 and 16 years old) through art. It fosters artistic talent among primary and secondary school children and awards those who stand out for their creativity in any field of contemporary art expression.

This year the competition also received the collaboration of the Fundación Theodora and the art group Boa Mistura. During the month of December, Fundación Theodora took Dr. Sonrisa to 6 schools in different Spanish cities to encourage children to take part in the contest. The participants were given the opportunity to take their art works to hospitals in Barcelona, Madrid, Zaragoza, Sevilla and Coruña.

During the week of 14 December, Boa Mistura created a mural in the Gregorio Marañón hospital in Madrid. The group decorated a wall in the Paediatrics ward with the help of the patients and the two winners of the Fresh Art competition in the mural art speciality from the last edition of the DKV Fresh Art prize.

This contest is part of the ARTERIA DKV art programme, through which DKV Seguros is promoting various actions aimed at encouraging artistic creation, as a path for communication and expression, a health drive and a way of encouraging personal development.

The programme ARTERIA DKV also includes Colección DKV, the contest "DKV Fresh Art" aimed at pre-university students and "DKV Arte y Salud" in collaboration with the Fine Arts Faculty of the Universitat Politécnica de València (UPV), which trains and promotes new artists.
