Es Baluard and DKV Seguros announce the fifth edition of the Production Grant for Videographic Creation, which will produce a work that will be exhibited in Es Baluard starting in November 2018, and also featured in a collective exhibition in Ca n'Oliver, Mahón, Menorca, from 5th October 2018 to 6th January 2019 (inauguration 4th October 2018).
The 5,000 euros grant is open to Spanish artists and collectives born after 1978. Winners of previous editions include (preposiciones) La Habitación (2014), by Elssie Ansareo and Alaitz Arenzana, Skyline (2015), by Javier Artero, The sun is gone but we still have the view (2016), by Joan Bennassar, and En la oscuridad brillante (2017), by Fermín Jiménez Landa.
The jury of the assessment committee for the fifth edition of the Production Grant for Videographic Creation includes the following members: Javier Hontoria (art curator and critic), Tania Pardo (Head of Exhibitions at La Casa Encendida), Nekane Aramburu (Director of Es Baluard), Alicia Ventura (Curator and Advisor at Colección DKV), and Juan Bautista Peiró (Advisor at Colección DKV).
The deadline for the submission of documentation is the 15th April 2018. The winners of this edition and their phrases will be announced on the museum website (www.esbaluard.org).
The collaboration of DKV Insurance with Es Baluard is embedded in the DKV ARTERIA programme, through which DKV Seguros promotes different actions aimed at fostering artistic creation, as a channel of communication and expression, promoter of health, and a way to enhance personal development.
The DKV ARTERIA programme also includes Colección DKV, which includes almost 550 works created by 225 Spanish artists, the "Fresh Art" competition aimed at pre-university students, and the chair of the company "DKV Arte y Salud" in collaboration with the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), which contributes to the training and promotion of new artists.
